Rauthin Estate is the next chapter of the farm many guests have known for years as Landmeterskop Farm Cottages, on Papiesvlei Road near Stanford. We're keeping what people loved — the farm setting, the cottages, the hot tubs, the animals, the sense of space — and gradually refining the rest: the guest experience, the booking journey, and the way the estate is presented.
But the heart of the place remains the same: self-catering cottages, wide skies, slow weekends, animals, hot tubs, fires, and room for children to roam.
The farm sits about 200 km from Cape Town and 22 km out of Stanford on the road to Elim — a working farm of meadows, dams and fynbos-covered hills in the heart of the Cape Overberg.
Stanford itself is one of the gentler Overberg villages: small, walkable, with a handful of restaurants, a Saturday market and the Klein River. Hermanus and the coast are about half an hour further on.
